About
UK-trained clinical psychologist. Bilingual in Arabic and English. Working with children and adults in Dubai since 2017.
I trained in the United Kingdom, completing my undergraduate degree and postgraduate studies at the University of Sussex, before going on to complete my MSc in Clinical Psychology at the United Arab Emirates University. That dual formation — rooted in both British clinical training and the UAE context — shapes how I approach every person who comes to see me.
Early in my career I worked within the NHS in the UK, specifically within Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS), where I gained extensive experience working with children and young people presenting with complex mental health needs. CAMHS training is widely regarded as among the most rigorous child mental health experience available internationally, and it remains central to how I work with younger clients today.
I later completed clinical attachments at Rashid Hospital's Psychiatric Department and Al Amal Psychiatric Hospital in Dubai — two of the UAE's foremost clinical institutions — which deepened my understanding of how psychological distress presents within this region and culture.
Before establishing my current practice I worked with Reverse Psychology Clinic in Dubai, and I am now based at The Free Spirit Collective in City Walk, where I see both children and adults in a private, comfortable clinical setting.
An earlier chapter of my career was spent as a brain trainer, working directly with individuals on cognitive skill development. That background gives me a richer understanding of how cognition, attention, and mental processes interact with emotional wellbeing — something I draw on particularly in assessments and cases involving attention and learning difficulties.
I work in both Arabic and English. Language is not neutral in therapy. Being able to meet someone in their first language — in the words they actually think and feel in — changes the depth and quality of what is possible.
Outside the therapy room, I have been selected by Cartoon Network to design and lead a mental health and anti-bullying campaign across Dubai schools, appeared multiple times on Dubai Eye 103.8 as an expert guest, and hosted workshops and community talks across the UAE on anxiety, childhood mental health, and wellbeing.
